Descripción

The Program Engineer is responsible for managing awarded projects to the time, cost and quality requirements. This position requires a detailed-oriented individual who is capable of providing the technical planning of resources for assigned programs. The Program Engineer will utilize engineering and project management talents to facilitate customer product design and development from concept through to completion.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages projects using defined tools to track and report the required time, cost and quality.
  • Supports sales growth initiatives and works with all departments to support and quickly respond to customer requests.
  • Actively participates in part and tooling quotes for new and existing programs.
  • Assists in material recommendations to support customer requests and design requirements.
  • Assists in design recommendations for injection molding and assembly.
  • Works with program management team on landed programs, involved from concept through completion.
  • Maintains awareness of the relevance and importance of activities and how each contributes to achieving quality objectives. Understands the importance of ensuring customer quality standards are met. Responsibilities may include the selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives and related training, corrective and preventive actions, product design and development, capacity analysis, logistics information, customer scorecards, and customer portals.
  • Possesses the knowledge and skills required to create and execute engineering diagrams, plans, and models that fulfill the product and customer requirements. This includes specific skills and knowledge for plastics. Is able to produce practical and functional solutions that meet operational needs.
  • Engineering knowledge and skills - Knowledge of mechanical design principles, finite element analysis, engineering documentation and quality systems. Understanding and use of basic component and assembly design concepts, including blue print reading and GD&T capabilities.

  • Experience with APQP principals



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Two to five (2-5) years' experience in the plastics industry preferred; commercial vehicle knowledge or commercial vehicle component knowledge desired.
  • Manufacturing and finishing processes experience and knowledge.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of materials and processes related to injection molded plastics preferred.
