CHANEL's long term objective is to grow qualitatively, building the long-term value of the brand for customers of today and tomorrow. The Senior Merchandising Manager will: Lead the product strategy & Execution plan in Mexico. Develop strong knowledge of Mexican clients through previous experience, detailed analysis of the business and strong interactions with the Market to influence product strategy. Build assortment recommendations, ensure all the merchandising operations are well executed and find new ways to improve them (from the buys of the right assortment for each boutique to the collection launch, distribution, etc.) in strong collaboration with other departments such as Retail, Style Expertise, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Press, etc. (360 degrees action plan) Be the voice of Mexico with Regional product counterpart. Manage the eyewear activity within the Fashion and Fragrance & Beauty boutiques and on the e-commerce site, as well as for the wholesale network. Key Responsibilities PRODUCT STRATEGY & EXECUTION PLAN FOR MEXCIO • Evaluate potential business model, define, and deploy implementation roadmap to further build Brand Image, Desirability and Vitality. • Innovate and find new levers in the 360 degrees development plan. Collaborate with all teams to implement successful execution & action plans. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT • Support merchandising planning boutiques & regional team to maximize the stock opportunities. • Monitoring of the implementation of the product strategy • Make informed strategic decisions in when to launch products to best meet the business needs. COLLECTION ASSORTMENT & BUYING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MEXICAN MARKET • Use your expertise and analysis to build the buying strategy for Mexico. • Prepare Pre-buys (OTB/Sales Analysis/Pre-Buy & Sell Thru reports) • Lead Buys in the showroom (6 times a year) working collaboratively with Boutique Managers, Style Expertise, Visual Merchandising, Retail, Press, etc. • Use your knowledge to lead the buyers through the buys adhering and feeding into the global product strategy. • Lead Post-buys for Market (Sharing, Deep Listening, Convincing, Open Minded) • Be responsible for the full assortment, order follow up • Responsible for ST, Slow sellers, best sellers, and stock transfers / management. • Reinforce and responsible of executing OBOS strategy per door COLLABORATION WITH OTHER STAKE HOLDERS • Define and implement relevant Merchandising KPIs • Collaborate with VM to optimize product store display and attractiveness thanks to the right assortment provided to each boutique • Ensure relevant assortment for each events / marketing activities in boutiques • Collaborate with Training team on the improvement of product knowledge among the staff (active participation to trainings, business knowledge sharing, etc.) • Collaborate with Style Expertise to support Chanel allure Allure & total look approach • Direct VM to ensure relevant exposure of products. MARKET BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE • Provide relevant merchandising business reports (trends, new products, customers' habits, product marketing activities, pricing, etc.) to Local, Regional partners. • Provide collection feedback to regional merchandising team • Review business reports for the Mexican market, to better understand trends, needs and product specificities (quantitative and qualitative side) • Share regular and actionable findings to define action plans • Follow the KPIs (Sales, SOH, Sell Thru) in alignment with Market objectives • Responsible for ST, Slow sellers, best sellers, and stock transfers / management • Define Market ad-hoc needs on business analysis, feedback to Merchandising team • Carry out regular market research and competitor analysis, getting insights from the market team, the regional & global teams, etc. Manage the Eyewear activity As such, your missions will revolve around three main axes: Buying Make assortment recommendations by store during the purchase of collections. Business monitoring Manage or improve the performance of the Eyewear category. Build a trustful relationship with local partner for wholesale and ensure the implementation of the global strategy in terms of distribution, product assortment & visibility to reach business objectives and Brand Image. Animation of the Retail community Collaborate with Sales Team to respond quickly to boutique requests and trainings TEAM & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT • Manage the Fashion Merchandising Data Analyst • Lead & coach team in managing the product and merchandising analysis, developing knowledge, and sharing expertise with partners (product, trends, style, and systems). • Strong communication skills with Retail team to understand the behavior of the consumers and pos • Ensure a solid & mutual trust working relationship with all key stakeholders including Regional Teams • Instill in Regional product team the Mexican specification with influential skills and reflect on the relevant assortment proposed by global team What are we looking for? • Minimum 10 years' experience in Fashion/Luxury Merchandising (Buyer) and / or Retail, preferably with previous work experience in luxury • Combine passion for Luxury, Fashion and Arts with solid product acumen • Driven by innovation and enjoy working in a fast-paced rhythm. • Having a strong buying dimension with pro-active and hands-on approach and being retail and market oriented. • Having strong influencing, coordination, and managerial skills • Willing to travel 6 times a year to Europe. • Fluency in English & Spanish is a must have, French is a plus • Degree in Fashion School or Arts School is a plus
