- Design, define, validate and publish parts for the assigned family groups; Analyze and solve failures with the parts; propose, validate and obtain cost reductions from these components.
- Do all changes and modifications to the assigned components and parts. (Change Notices - CNs)
- Request, authorize and evaluate the tests required to materials, components and systems to validate they comply with design requirements.
- Determine and publish temporary and deffinitive approvals from assigned components.
- Analyze and resolve functional and durability failures from assigned components.
- Develope new compoenents with suppliers help following the sourcing process.
- Support assembly plants during ussage and application of design especifications.
- Application and ussage of software and hardware to design models required for each commodity.
- Apply standards to components and perform benchmark studies looking for (Performance, weight, cost efficiency).
- Elaborate FMEAs
- Approve or reject reviation requests.
- Request prototype fabrications
- Propose and implement cost saving ideas (TCR/VO)
- Write and implement change notifications to the product.
- Verify manufacturing process before launching products.
- Request and obtain concurrance to: validations, deviations and changes to product
- Obtain, review and understand: product changes, implementation timings, bulletings, engineering stds, parts listing, GD&Ts, DVP&Rs and Engineering graphics.
- Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers
- Support plants during pilot phases and launches.
- Design and release parts in NX/TC (2D and 3D)

Basic Qualifications:

- Minimum bacherlor of Science degree in Mechanical, Mechanical Electrical or Mechatronics.
- Years of experiences in automotive industry according to the position requirements.
- CAD Modeling experience
- Good understanding of manufacturing process and design of metallic parts for example: (stamping, hot forming, roll forming, die cast).
- Advanced level of English
- Knowledge of processes and validation of the automotive industry.
- 5+years of Experience with closures in automotive industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Root cause analysis certifications like reactive, reliability or design for six sigma.
- NX and Team Center experience
- Experience designing Side doors either stamped, roll formed or FUG.
