Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Junior Architectural Designer to join our team. You will play a key role in providing infill feasibility analysis, modeling infill buildings, and producing architectural construction drawings for both commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in design and drafting architecture, with proficiency in Autocad LT 2D, Sketchup, and REVIT software. Knowledge of Canadian building codes and regulations, particularly those in Alberta, is highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide infill feasibility analysis.
• Model infill buildings in preparation for rendering.
• Produce drawings: Ability to create architectural construction drawings.
• Design layout modifications.
• Design facades and styles.
• Draft blueprints for development and building permit applications.
• Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
• Provide other documents as required.
• Assist in developing jobs at all project phases.
• Work collaboratively with the Project Leadership Team (i.e., Project Designer, Project Architect, Project Manager, and Principal in Charge).
• Proficient in navigating the database system (local servers).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in design and drafting architecture, with a background in commercial and residential projects.
• Proficiency in Autocad LT 2D, Sketchup, and REVIT software.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and regulations, preferably Alberta codes.
• Ability to create architectural construction drawings and design layouts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to quality standards.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in calculating Energy Code requirements.
• Willingness to learn local zoning, bylaws, and building codes with mentorship from the team.
