About our client: This position is located in Ciudad del Carmen, Tampico.
We are a leading provider of marine transportation services to exploration and production, oilfield service, offshore construction and military customers.
Location: Playa del Carmen Centro,Quintana Roo.
The Finance Manager - Mexico is responsible for coordinating and supervising the local financial reporting, accounting processes and finance-related activities for our office in Mexico. In addition, the Finance Manager - Mexico manages the Ciudad del Carmen and Paraiso offices and related administration along with the warehouses and related inventory.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting Mexico´s operations.
• Analyze and review Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow statements
• Interpret financial information for operations personnel, as applicable.
• Coordinate the compilation and review of applicable Mexico tax information to support the corporate tax function, as necessary.
• Ensure that the Mexico subsidiaries meet all the requirements for financial reporting as required by Offshore.
• Assist with the development of annual financial budgets and Mexico shoreside plans.
• Coordinate with corporate treasury function to effectively manage cash requirements in Mexico.
• Manage the reporting of Mexican local content percentages for local charters by computing such percentages for the various
• Oversee Purchasing and Warehouse personnel in Mexico.
• Ensure that vessel inventory is properly logged, tracked, and safeguarded.
• Serve as the HOS Leasing de Mexico compliance officer as per SOFOM regulations.
• Liaise with Hornbeck Offshore's corporate functions to support activities in Mexico.
• Assist the operations team when needed and ensure the proper import/export of vessels and equipment.
• Assist in the management of and accounting for any intercompany loans, interest and dividends.
• Manage the administration of all offices
• Ensure sound internal controls are designed and operating effectively and that all business transactions are conducted in a manner consistent with the high standards and core values of the Company.
• Develop, review, and evaluate cost reduction opportunities available to the Company in Mexico. • Develop good working relationships with 3rd party financial service providers such as bankers, auditors, and statutory organizations for the benefit
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or advanced business degree
• Experience: Seven to ten years of experience in accounting or finance. Some experience in the oil and gas industry or marine transportation sector preferred.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook; Working knowledge of Lawson accounting application is preferred.
• Must be proficient in English and Spanish
• Must be willing to board and ride vessels to increase understanding of how this role supports our business.
