Description

Twin Dolphin Los Cabos is the premier master-planned community situated on the renowned Golden Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo on the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Controller will be a key member of the leadership team who will provide financial oversight for a diverse portfolio of interests in real estate and securities and will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and enhancing new accounting systems
  • Providing fiduciary oversight
  • Supporting sound internal financial decision making
  • Primary responsibility the accuracy and reliability of the profit and loss statements, cash management, and cash flow projections of the business


Financial Planning and Analysis

Oversee and collaborate with the Executive Committee to:

  • Oversees organizational budgeting, accounting, and cash management to ensure accurate reporting, interpretation, and analysis of financial results in conjunction with forecasts and long-range plans.
  • Generates, analyzes, and presents monthly and yearly financial statements and cash flow statements.
  • Oversees and reviews every monthly construction draw for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and interprets budget performance on a monthly basis.
  • Prepares information and KPI's, in consultation with the Executive Team, for use in evaluating, maintaining, and improving programs.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and interprets budget performance on a monthly basis.
  • Annually reviews and recommends changes to the fee structure inclusive of general conditions, construction fees and warranty.
  • Manages and monitors the cash flow of the organization ensuring that cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations.
  • Monitors billing systems to properly track revenue.
  • Monitors budget variances.
  • Assures the requirements of the principal financing documents and lender institution requests are fulfilled.
  • Analyze the financial health of all projects as well as the company.


Accounting, Tax and Cash Management

  • Establish, implement and enhance accounting systems, internal controls and procedures.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting.
  • Interaction with tax consultants and legal team for the preparation of various tax returns.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Oversee the preparation of budgets, as needed.
  • Support decision making with practical and rigorous analytics.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior management position working for a construction company
  • Experience managing teams of people with the ability to mentor, motivate, and train staff
  • IT infrastructure and computer/software knowledge a plus
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting is required. Master's degree in business administration, management, accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • CPA a plus
