Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer Level III

This position requires experience with material handling or conveyors.
Mission:
Lead and coordinate engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, equipment distribution, perform equipment selection, define and mentor on bill of materials and product model configurations, also performing materials ordering following project plans and schedules on medium and high complexity projects, working closely with Supervisors. Perform mechanical design activities under the supervision of the mechanical engineering lead in all types of project sizes and complexities, efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Also lead on-site commissioning ensuring equipment distribution within the building as well as appropriate flow of the process.
Main Accountabilities:
- Technical contribution: Coordinate mechanical engineering drawings in collaboration with engineering specialists using CAD systems. Review layouts integrating several levels for material handling flow and support BOM definition accordingly, by meeting manufacturing and customer pre-approved schedules. Provide training and support during site commissioning ensuring equipment distribution and performance. Support and lead continuous improvement of project process/product/system design via provision of lessons learned feedback.
- Planning and control: Deliver in-house assignments as per the agreed timeline and set quality standards for 2D/3D CAD work. Follow work plans and cost estimates for work within project budgets, troubleshooting and support activities.
- Processes and tools: Ensure accurate application and implementation of standard design practices and tools in preparing accurate drawings and 3D modeling. Use standard processes and procedures to ensure all layout and equipment selection activities comply with project specifications to satisfy contractual requirements. Report process and tool inefficiencies and suggest improvement ideas.
- Risk and opportunity: Lead and train in conducting risk and opportunity assessments during site commissioning phase and in handling technical risks by following mitigation guidelines during equipment distribution phases.
- Customer: Interact with internal customers on scheduled project reviews as well as with external customers and support them on requests.
- Industrial Experience: More than 10+ years of industrial experience.

- Required: Professional license and/or cedula is a must
- Desired: Driver's License
