Key Responsibilities
- Oversee structural analysis, stress engineering, and finite element analysis (FEA) for advanced composite and metallic aerospace components.
- Ensure robust load path definition, load transfer validation, and compliance with aerospace certification requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain) to deliver reliable and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Provide technical guidance in the use of PLM systems (such as Siemens Teamcenter / NOVIA) to manage engineering data, configuration, and lifecycle.
- Drive the resolution of structural issues through MRB (Material Review Board) processes, supporting production and aftermarket.
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, and technical documents.
- Contribute to strategic planning for engineering capability growth and technology roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Communicate technical updates and project progress to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with organizational goals.
- Lead and develop a team of structural engineers and analysts, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Profile
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in structural engineering within aerospace or automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of composite and metallic structures, nacelle or airframe components, and aerospace certification standards.
- Proven experience leading teams in stress analysis, FEA, and structural validation methods.
- Experience with nacelle structures, composite structures, or large-scale aerospace assemblies.
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA certification requirements and industry standards.
- Strong proficiency in design and modeling tools such as CATIA V5/V6 for complex aerospace structures.
- Experience using CAD/CAE tools to support structural design, integration, and analysis.
- Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, NOVIA) for configuration and data management.
- Ability to collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with structural requirements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness and availability to travel domestically and internationally to support global engineering teams, suppliers, and customer programs.
