Job Description: Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall supervision and strategic direction of all plant operations. This includes production, cost reduction, safety, quality control, maintenance, logistics (receiving and shipping), and compliance with company standards. The role requires strong leadership, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to deliver results through effective planning, resource allocation, and team development.

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, or Engineering.
  • 6+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Proven experience in the harness sector (essential).
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Strong background in budgeting, cost control, and financial practices.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing continuous improvement / lean methodologies such as Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
  • Leadership excellence with proven team building, advanced coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Ability to motivate, influence, and engage employees across all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with active listening ability.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible in dynamic environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Main Responsibilities & Authority
  • Lead daily plant operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards.
  • Establish, implement, and oversee plant policies and procedures aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Monitor plant performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure product consistency, monitor scrap rates, and drive improvements.
  • Oversee production schedules to maintain inventory levels while maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Control operating expenses and identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards, promoting a safe workplace.
  • Manage inventory levels and control product flow across operations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the plant's manufacturing budget.
  • Remove production bottlenecks, optimize resource allocation, and align workforce with production goals.
  • Support and drive the implementation of Management Systems (Quality Management, Environmental Management, 5S, Kanban, Zero Defects Strategy, etc.).
  • Establish and track plant objectives through effective planning, KPIs, and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement by eliminating waste and increasing productivity.
  • Serve as the Product Safety Representative (PSB) for the plant.
