Intretech Mexico is an starting up company and manufcatures electronic applications for a wide range industries.
Job Overview:
Customs specialists are responsible for the compliance and risk management of the entire import and export process of company. It must be familiar with customs laws and regulations, international trade terms and logistics processes to ensure that goods are cleared and transported efficiently and at low cost, while maintaining the enterprise's customs compliance and reducing operational risks.
Responsibilities:
Full Import and Export Process Management
? Responsible for preparing customs clearance documents (bills of lading, contracts, invoices, packing lists, etc.) for imports and exports to/from Mexico, ensuring compliance with Mexican customs and international trade regulations (e.g., INCOTERMS 2020).
? Coordinate multimodal transport (sea, air, and trucking), arrange logistics links such as trailers, customs clearance, warehousing, and distribution, optimizing transportation costs and timeliness.
? Track cargo shipment status and handle exceptions (e.g., delays, inspections, and cargo detentions) to ensure timely arrival of goods at the port/warehouse.
Compliance and Risk Management
? Familiar with Mexican customs policies, duty-free policies, and bonded zone operations; process product import and export licenses, certificates of origin, and other documents.
? Analyze customs risks (e.g., misclassification of goods, discrepancies in tax calculations), develop response strategies, and mitigate operational risks.
? Maintain good relationships with Mexican customs, the Commodity Inspection Bureau, and other government departments, resolving emergencies (e.g., inspection and tax disputes).
Data and Process Optimization
? Establish a basic import and export data ledger, maintain system data accuracy, and support business decision-making.
? Optimize customs standard operating procedures (SOPs), standardize key processes such as document processing and manual management, and improve work efficiency.
? Review customs fees (such as processing fees and logistics fees), optimize expense structures, and control costs.
Client and Team Collaboration
? Assist clients with logistics information inquiries, handle complaints, and produce shipping tracking reports and KPI reports, providing regular feedback to clients and relevant leaders.
? Collaborate with external suppliers such as freight forwarders, shipping agents, and warehouses to ensure seamless logistics operations.
? Communicate with internal sales, finance, procurement, and other departments to coordinate business needs (such as order priorities and payment methods).
Required skills and qualifications:
Education and Language Proficiency
? Education: College degree or above, majoring in international trade, logistics management, or Spanish is preferred.
? Languages: Fluent in Spanish (oral and written), proficient in business communication and email exchanges; English CET-4 or above, with basic reading and writing skills.
Professional Experience and Skills
? Experience: More than three years of experience in import and export customs clearance, familiar with Mexican shipping procedures; experience in manufacturing, cross-border e commerce, or third-party logistics is preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and customs management systems (such as Single Window).
Familiarity with Mexican Customs Code (HS Code) classification principles, and the ability to accurately classify goods.
Understanding of import and export regulatory regulations in China and North America, and the ability to collaborate across cultures.
Professional Qualities and Competencies

Strong sense of responsibility, meticulous work, and the ability to multitask under high pressure environments.
Strong logical analysis skills, able to quickly identify problems and propose solutions.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, able to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
Bonus Points:
Candidates with a Customs Broker Certification, BEC Advanced Certification, or familiarity with UCP600 terminology are preferred. ? Experience working for a local Mexican company or familiarity with local culture and business practices are preferred.
In the begining the company will offer base salary plus law benefits while other superior benefits are implemented.
