A multinational manufacturing company is seeking an HR Specialist – Training & Development to design, implement, and evaluate learning strategies that strengthen technical and behavioral capabilities across operational, technical, and salaried staff. This role ensures workforce readiness, compliance with industry regulations, and drives a culture of learning and continuous improvement. The position plays a critical role in organizational performance by leading structured onboarding, certification, and upskilling initiatives while supporting compliance with customer and regulatory audits (IATF, RBA, OEMs).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Education, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in Training & Development, preferably in automotive or advanced manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of customer and industry audits (IATF 16949, RBA, OEM standards).
Expertise in training methodologies (TWI, 4-Step Method, ADDIE, 70-20-10, VARK).
Proven ability to coordinate operational trainers and manage onboarding, certification, and cross-training programs.
Advanced use of training matrices, recertification schedules, and audit documentation.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; familiarity with training systems (TRESS, SIRCE, SharePoint or similar).
Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Bilingual (Spanish & English).
Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual Training Needs Analysis (DNC) across all employee levels.
Design and manage training programs for onboarding, technical upskilling, soft skills, and leadership readiness.
Maintain and oversee the Training Matrix to ensure compliance with legal, customer, and audit requirements.
Supervise operational trainers, ensuring consistency and instructional quality across shifts.
Develop technical content (SOPs, manuals, e-learning, assessments) aligned with business needs.
Evaluate training effectiveness using metrics, surveys, and performance indicators.
Track and report key KPIs (training hours per capita, % certified operators, DNC closure rate).
Support internal and external audits with training evidence and documentation.
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and HSE to align training content with requirements.
Enhance the internal instructor program through coaching, certification, and continuous feedback.
Support HR initiatives such as Career Paths, Succession Planning, and High-Potential programs.
Build partnerships with external institutions for certifications and dual training programs.
Promote a culture of learning, inclusion, and professional growth across the plant.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Organizational Development, Talent Management, or Education.
Train-the-Trainer or Coaching certifications.
Internal Auditor certification in IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 45001.
Experience with e-learning platforms, microlearning, or blended learning.
Knowledge of NOM-035, RBA, DEI frameworks.
Strong analytical and project management skills.
Familiarity with survey and data visualization tools (Microsoft Forms, Power BI).
