We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and property accounting. The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in property accounting (journal entries, monthly close, GAAP books). Experience in senior housing is strongly preferred, though we are open to candidates with multi-site accounting backgrounds. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes for multiple entities.
Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure timely reconciliations.
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Support audits by providing required schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
Collaborate with property managers, regional finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of property-level financials.
Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
6+ years of accounting experience, with minimum 2+ years in property accounting.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience in senior housing industry strongly preferred; multi-site accounting experience also considered.
Proven ability to manage month-end close processes independently.
Strong Excel and ERP/accounting systems skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across teams.
Preferred Skills
CPA or progress toward certification.
Experience with real estate, property management, or senior housing organizations.
Familiarity with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions.
