The Quote Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost quotations for prospective and existing EMS customers. This role involves interpreting customer RFQs (Requests for Quotation), coordinating cross-functional teams (engineering, purchasing, production), and analyzing BOMs, labor, tooling, and overhead costs to develop detailed proposals that support the company's growth and profitability goals.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in EMS, electronics manufacturing, or a related industry
• Familiarity with PCB assembly processes, components, and manufacturing techniques
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and quoting software

Experience and mandatory knowledge:

• Experience with ISO 9001, IATF16949, ISO 13485, or other industry standards

• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles

• Familiarity with customer-specific quality requirements (e.g., automotive, medical)

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) if applicable for the region

Main Responsabilities:

• Review and analyze customer RFQs and technical documentation (BOM, Gerber files, assembly drawings, specifications, etc.)

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, and finance to gather input for quotation preparation

• Perform cost analysis including materials, labor, equipment, NRE (non-recurring engineering), and overhead

• Use internal tools and ERP systems to generate pricing models

• Develop and maintain standardized costing and quoting templates

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of quotations to the sales/business development team

• Support customer meetings and calls to explain or adjust quotes

• Identify cost reduction opportunities and participate in value engineering

• Maintain historical quote data and provide insights for pricing strategy

• Support the transition of awarded quotes to production
