As a Planning Manager you will be responsible of managing and control the plant's workload by generating production plans; ensure on-time delivery of equipment and/or spare parts through proper activity planning based on the contractual date; Identify and mitigate internal, supply chain, and any other risks that may arise and impact on-time delivery or the billing plan, developing immediate action plans involving the parties responsible for each process.

What Needs To Be Done?

1. Generate a schedule of activities from start to finish based on the contractual delivery date.
2. Reflect the workload of new lines in the workload file specified by the planning manager, keeping the workload updated at the different work centers.
3. Monitor the timely delivery of materials.
4. Schedule whiteboards at the plant, reflecting the start and finish dates of the different components.
5. Timely close production orders to avoid the accumulation of work in process.
6. Coordinate the subcontracting activities necessary to meet the requirements of each unit or spare part, as applicable.
7. Close the system for activities and/or transactions required for the shipment of equipment or spare parts
8. Provide the necessary information to the departments involved for the proper execution of operations (priorities, packing lists, material delivery dates, etc.).

Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours

• Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering
• Bilingual English Spanish
• Capable of using Excel spreadsheets at advance level (macros)
• ERP´S knowledge
• Planning techniques
• 5-7 years working for industrial plants
• Self-motivated
• Methodical, precise and attention to detail.
• Good people and communication skills
• Good team-work player
• Focused on results

Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviours

• APICS training will be a plus.
• Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma.
• ERP BAAN solid experience as user / consultant.
