Responsible for ensuring that products or components supplied by vendors meet quality standards and specifications. They act as the liaison between the supplier and the organization to improve supplier performance, reduce defects, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. This role involves conducting supplier audits, evaluating supplier quality systems, and managing corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
Supplier Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze supplier performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action: Investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Product Inspections and Testing: Oversee the inspection and testing of supplied components to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work with internal teams, including R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, to ensure product quality and address supplier-related quality issues.
Supplier Development: Support supplier development activities, providing guidance and training to improve their processes and capabilities.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier quality metrics, audit results, and corrective actions. Prepare reports for senior management on supplier quality status.
Supplier Audits and Assessments: Conduct audits and assessments to evaluate the quality control systems and processes of suppliers.
Quality Improvement: Work closely with suppliers to improve their quality processes, aiming to reduce defects, and improve product reliability.
Quality management:
- Develop and Manage Supplier Standard Portal. Develop and Manage Quality Management Systems (QMS) & Documentation as per ISO 9001.
- Develop and Manage Quality KPIs, such as failure rate, customer's product satisfaction, response times, resolution times, that support achieving Quality Department's yearly objective.
- Manage and Analyze Voice of the customers databases; perform deep root cause analysis of the data to provide potential initiatives that can help improve product. Collaborate with Supplier Quality Assurance Manager & Raw Materials to improve components quality standards.
- Collaborate on reviewing, editing, approving, suggesting, and managing new Supplier Standards documentation.
- Apply effective root cause methodology to reduce the cost of quality in Palliser product. Develop and introduce new quality tools and platform to introduce them with impacted stakeholders such as Microsoft Forms and Power automate.
- Develop and Manage Quality Information System (QIS) database. Collaborate with Application Development Manager to manage and maintain Quality Information Audit Tool (QIAT). Perform necessary tests on changes and provide QA reports for the tool. Communicate on-going initiatives reports to Director of Quality.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred).Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality control processes, standards (such as ISO 9001, Fast Response, Cost recoveries, RMA's sampling plans, etc.), and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with internal teams and suppliers.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of quality assessments and reports.
- Project Management: Ability to manage projects related to supplier quality improvement and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Experience and Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint and excel) is required.
- Bilingual (English)
Desired Experience:
· 3 years of experience in supplier quality management, manufacturing, or engineering.
· Familiarity with quality control tools such as FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.
Furniture experience desirable.
