Descripción
The General Manager (GM) will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of the electronics manufacturing facility based in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico. The GM will ensure efficient production, uphold quality standards, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and drive business growth. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven background in electronics manufacturing, strong business acumen, and a hands-on approach to management. The role requires a strong onsite presence and may involve occasional travel to customer locations, suppliers, or corporate headquarters.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Leadership:
· Develop and execute business strategies aligned with corporate objectives and market trends in the electronics sector.
· Take a hands-on approach to problem solving and prevention.
· Regularly report to executive leadership on progress toward key strategic initiatives and KPIs.
Operational Management:
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tecate manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal productivity and cost-efficiency.
· Implement and monitor production schedules to meet customer delivery timelines.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding labor, safety, and environmental standards.
· Drive the adoption of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Financial Oversight:
· Prepare, manage, and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
· Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve or exceed targets.
· Optimize resource allocation and cost controls to maximize profitability.
Quality Assurance & Customer Satisfaction:
· Establish and uphold robust quality control processes to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction.
· Collaborate with the quality management team to address any issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
· Lead efforts to achieve and maintain industry certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, IPC standards).
· Foster a customer-centric culture, addressing client inquiries and ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations.
Talent Management & Team Leadership:
· Hire, train, mentor, and retain a high-performing team across multiple departments including production, engineering, quality, and administration.
· Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
· Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and open communication.
· Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws and company HR policies.
Supply Chain & Vendor Relations:
· Oversee supply chain management, ensuring timely procurement of materials and services.
· Negotiate with key suppliers and vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
· Develop strategies for risk management and mitigation in sourcing and logistics.
· Health, Safety & Environment:
· Champion workplace safety initiatives to ensure a healthy and compliant working environment.
· Ensure strict adherence to all environmental regulations and sustainable practices.
· Lead the company's emergency preparedness and response efforts.
