The primary responsibility of the Business Development Director is to lead the business development efforts within a specified geographic area for new customers or line of service. This role emphasizes aggressively establishing new relationships, generating revenue growth and maximizing enterprise profitability. therefore, responsible for developing and executing action plans that will lead to successful signing of new business contracts. The Business Development Director will be responsible for self-identifying and developing new business opportunities as well as progressing new business leads that are generated by centralized lead generation efforts. They will be responsible for coordinating all information, activities & internal resources to support moving an opportunity through the sales process. They will establish credibility with their customers by developing a deep understanding of their business issues and subsequently present solutions that meet or exceed their customers expectation while delivering business value to Schneider. The Business Development Director will guide cross-functional and multi-level teams to develop solutions to potential prospects. The Business Development Director will know internal mission, policies, & structure to bring resources and efficiency to the sales cycle.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, identify, and qualify new business development opportunities through strategic prospecting and planning.
- Timely follow up on lead generation with weekly face to face sales calls.
- Coordinate development of client solutions with the solution design team, relationship managers, and the line of business owners.
- Identify and drive solutions for unrecognized opportunities with existing customers.
- Develop, write, and present the value proposition for Schneider services to potential new business customers.
- Prepare and lead contract negotiations for new business.
- Coordinate with the line of business owner and business implementation team for implementation of the client solution.
- Manage the ongoing interactions of the business to ensure realization of solutions as presented and won with client to include to include receivables.
- Ensure timely and accurate account transition to Customer Service and Account Development Directors/Dir-Account.
- Effective use of sales tools to ensure accurate, timely and complete management of data / content that promotes opportunities through the sales cycle.
