Descripción
The Production Planner is responsible for fulfilling customer requests for products and parts. Maintaining customer service, inventory levels, addressing shortages and supporting product evolution are daily functions. This role is responsible for securing the necessary materials to meet the needs of our customers and the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in a daily production meeting to provide information on the status of the material and customer orders shipping dates.
• Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.
• Work to align original acknowledge and promise dates with customer request dates.
• Update forecasts as needed based on demand input and design changes.
• Manage FOB Orders schedule to meet dates and generate revenue within the month.
• Coordinate RG (returned goods) revision and usage to minimize inventory impact and/or scrap.
• Review capacity by work-center and rebalance load to optimize customer service.
• Manage WIP inventory levels by adjusting the manufacturing schedules to avoid potential excess, obsolescence and shortages.
• Oversee Inventory policy through ABCD classification and use of proper planning parameters.
• Adjust forecasts and planning parameters as required including safety stocks, reorder points, minimum orders etc. in adherence with Vertiv guidelines.
• Participate in cost savings efforts.
• Review and release manufacturing orders for sub-assemblies and finished goods using inventory information and production rates.
• Review and execute MRP exception messages report to manage its portfolio.
• Coordinate Engineering changes and product phase in and phase out.
• Provide product availability and daily coordination of information between production, purchasing, sales, shipping, and engineering as required.
• Generates daily, weekly, monthly metric reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, materials management or material planning function.
• Fluency in English and Spanish required (read, write and speak).
• Experience in an industrial, high mix job shop environment
• Proficient in spreadsheets, MS Office.
• Hands on experience with calculating safety stocks, reorder points (MIN/MAX) and forecasting and inventory turns.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to work at different levels of the organization
• Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Planning or Production Control.
• Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and a strong commitment to excellence.
