Job Description: FRP Pultrusion Department Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven FRP Pultrusion Department Manager to
lead our Fiber Reinforced Profiles (FRP) production team. This role oversees the entire
pultrusion process, including mixing, production, packaging of FRP sheets and profiles, and the
management of a team of approximately 10 employees per shift. The department operates
four profile lines, creels, mixing equipment, and saws. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in FRP production and process engineering, with proven leadership skills to ensure
efficiency, quality, and safety across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Leadership & Management:
o Lead, supervise, and develop a team of approximately 10 employees per
shift, ensuring clear communication and alignment with company goals.
o Schedule and assign tasks, monitor employee performance, and foster a
culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
o Provide training and guidance on best practices for pultrusion processes and
equipment operation.
-Production Oversight:
o Manage all aspects of FRP sheet and profile production, including resin
mixing, pultrusion operations, and final packaging.
o Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high quality and
minimizing waste.
Monitor and optimize the performance of four profile lines, creels, mixing
equipment, and saws.
-Process Optimization:
o Identify and implement improvements to processes, equipment, and
workflows to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
o Maintain accurate records of production data, inventory, and equipment
maintenance.
o Report key performance metrics, including production rates, downtime, and
quality statistics, to senior management.
Qualifications:
-Proven experience in FRP production or a similar manufacturing environment, with a
strong understanding of pultrusion processes.
-Background in process engineering, particularly focused on fiber-reinforced
composites, is highly beneficial.
-Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams in a
production environment.
-Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot
complex process or equipment issues.
-Knowledge of resin systems, glass fibers, and FRP manufacturing materials and
techniques.
-Familiarity with quality control principles and safety regulations in a manufacturing
setting.
-Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
-Experience working with continuous process equipment such as profile lines, mixing
equipment, creels, and saws.
-Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
-Proficiency in ERP production management software, computer literacy, and
Microsoft Office Suite.
