Teach art lessons using the MYP (IB) frameworks and programmes to teenagers between 12 and 16 years old in order to ensure students progress in art. Participate in school events and exhibitions.
Activities:
Plan lessons and programme continuums, according to the guidelines shared at TCS to ensure classes that they comply with IB and SEP programmes.
Teach performing art lessons in English according to IB policies. Some disciplines that will/can be taught are dance, drama and music.
Teach lessons that promote the attitudes of the IB student profile at all times and ensure that you teach constructivist, student-centered classes. Have excellent group control strategies and implement the Intelligent Discipline programme.
Inform students in a timely manner about their poor performance, bad behavior or some other special situation, and, where appropriate, send communications to parents and/or group tutors. Also, congratulate them for their achievements.
Prepare in a timely manner, in accordance with established guidelines, initial, partial and final evaluation instruments, questionnaires for regularization exams or project, and, where appropriate, recovery exams. Provide catch-up sessions when necessary.
Lead tutoring sessions according to the wellbeing expectations and academic needs. Consecuently, provide a systematic suport to students that involve academic and socioemotional aspects.
Organise the Churchill School Winter Fest along with other art teachers if necessary. Support the visual arts teacher in the organisation of the Art Day.
Collaborate in school events, break duties, tutoring, weekly training, filling in for absent teachers.
Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching practice and be aware of trends in education in the socio-emotional aspect, specific to their subject and in technology. Be willing to take International Baccalaureate training courses.
Be able to work in a multicultural environment, demonstrating consideration and respect for the diversity of strata and particularities of children and their families. Be an example to follow especially in terms of the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate.
