Responsibilities and assignmentsMain responsabilities:
- Sets direction and ensures mission and purpose of the team are clear
- Develops approaches to achieve organizational goals
- Improves current services
- Identifies new service opportunities and threats
- Adapts strategies to changing directions
- Leads service area planning, goal setting and budgeting processes
- Directs and supports development of metrics to assesses performance of GL Team relative to service agreements and internal customer satisfaction
- Provide expertise and insight on how to apply US GAAP, Local GAAP, Company policy and problem solving capabilities
- Manages escalated issues and provides final decisions and/or approval where appropriate
- Ensures integration with other service groups and works collaboratively to gain trust and build credibility by following through on commitments and taking responsibility for outcomes and customer satisfaction
- Participates in Service Councils and partners with GBS Performance Improvement team to identify service improvement opportunities
- Provides regular status updates to GBS leadership (e.g., GBS Leader, councils, etc.)
Requirements and qualificationsREQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Finance or Accounting.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 10+ years progressive experience in multiple financial/ accounting functions.
At least 3-5 years of senior leadership experience with multiple direct reports and responsibility for monthly closing for a large finance and accounting organization.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous leadership experience in a shared services environment.
Previous experience in a manufacturing company is preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Process oriented with an understanding of business process improvement methods, change management and project management.
Proficiency with ERP, Finance and general ledger software preferred
Understanding of ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and technology enable business processes
Ability to manage periodic General Ledger closing
