This position is responsible for mechanical and creative art processes involved with blank, flexographic, screen, UDD-P, UDD and UDD-VDP print jobs. This position creates artwork as required within customer specifications and production tolerances. This position is responsible for artwork requirements for all business units.
Essential Functions
Creates content proofs (CP) and Production Layout Plans (PLP) per customer specifications and production tolerances for press and job package completion.
Prepares files and purchase plates from suppliers in a timely manner to meet scheduled production and ship dates.
Creates drawings for job tickets.
Reorders plates if necessary and send files to plate supplier.
Maintains and back-up computer files for organization and completeness.
Assists in manufacturing reviews meetings and coordinate action items when required.
Manage electronic comparison software to detect any discrepancies between customer supplier art files, and prepress documents before sending for imaging and plate creation with the EyeC system.
Generate electronic files for manufacturing to compare first run pieces to approved artfiles, with the ODRI system.
Works in the creation of art files for digital print prototypes and Internal signage documents as required.
Assists in the development of IATF procedures and responsible for procedure compliance.
Other duties needed or required by management.
Skills & Abilities
Education:
High school diploma required. Ongoing studies in Design or a related field preferred but not required
Experience:
Preferred: basic understanding of mechanical or creative processes used in manufacturing; no experience required
Computer Skills:
Adobe Illustrator, Esko PowerLayout, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat Pro
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills required
Knowledge of ERP systems
