The Opportunity
We are looking for a Category Buyer – Energy to drive and execute the sourcing strategy for the Energy category in Mexico, covering electricity, natural/propane gas, and renewable energy projects.
This role will play a key part in transforming the category into a regional strategic function, in alignment with the Latam Center of Excellence (COE) strategy. The successful candidate will identify opportunities for optimization, establish best-in-class sourcing processes, and enhance policies to support business objectives.
Additionally, this position will lead productivity and sustainability projects, ensuring regional goals are met while driving efficiency and innovation.
Your Impact
As a Global Procurement Indirects Sr. Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Mexico's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) in alignment with procurement category objectives.
- Managing spend mapping, local stakeholders, and vendor relationships, ensuring a competitive supplier base that enhances productivity through efficiency, technology, and innovative solutions.
- Developing and executing a 12-month local strategy in alignment with Latam COE's 3-year plan, implementing sourcing strategies following the 8-step methodology.
- Analyzing key cost drivers within the local industry, staying ahead of market trends and best practices, and contributing to long-term pricing mechanisms and joint-business assessments.
- Driving sustainability initiatives by contributing to inflation mitigation strategies to ensure Net Zero Opex Inflation.
- Supporting Procurement Indirects transformation, fostering efficiency, and enabling new ways of working.
- Strengthening governance processes by enhancing visibility on sourcing projects, improving prioritization, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and ensuring accurate budgeting and benefits tracking.
Who Are We Looking For?
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Engineering or a related field.
Experience & Skills
- 4+ years of experience in category management or sourcing processes within procurement roles.
- Experience in Direct Procurement or Energy Management, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with a solid understanding of business economics, cost structures, and quality drivers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence across a matrix organization.
- Proven ability to simplify complex information and communicate effectively at an executive level.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, both verbal and written.
- Results-driven and comfortable navigating change while setting and achieving ambitious targets.
