Senior WordPress Developer

INHABIT is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior WordPress Developer with expert-level skills in React, Gutenberg, and building custom WordPress plugins. You will play a critical role in enhancing the performance, functionality, and scalability of our WordPress WEBSITES and custom plugins, ensuring seamless integration with external SaaS applications via APIs. If you're passionate about pushing the limits of WordPress and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the continued development, maintenance, and optimization of our custom WordPress plugin designed for enterprise-scale environments.
Create, refine, and maintain custom Gutenberg blocks using React. js, with a focus on high performance and responsiveness.
Ensure smooth integration between WordPress and our SaaS application by utilizing robust APIs and troubleshooting communication issues effectively.
Debug complex backend and frontend issues quickly and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring an optimal user experience across all devices and browsers.
Optimize database queries and overall WordPress site performance, ensuring fast load times and high scalability.
Write and maintain high-quality, efficient, and secure code, adhering to development best practices such as automated testing (PHPUnit, Jest, Cypress), CI/CD pipelines, PHP and JavaScript linting, and version control.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement in both code and infrastructure and proactively implement solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

Expert-level proficiency in WordPress development, specifically with React. js and Gutenberg block development.
Strong experience with building custom WordPress plugins that integrate with SaaS applications using REST APIs.
Proven track record of working on complex, large-scale, multi-site WordPress projects.
Extensive experience with local development environments, particularly Docker.
Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, optimizing queries and improving database performance.
Solid understanding of WordPress architecture, including the WP-REST-API.
Experience with automated testing frameworks like PHPUnit (PHP), Jest (JavaScript), and Cypress (end-to-end testing).
Ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug issues related to API integrations, React-based components, and backend performance.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
Experience with browser debugging tools and techniques for optimizing frontend performance across various devices and browsers.
An understanding of cloud infrastructure and how to build scalable WordPress solutions.
